Daily Tarot Card: 2 of Swords

July 6th, 2009 by taurusrising.net received No Comments »

Today’s drawing brings us the: Two of Swords

Looking at the Two of Swords from the Waite deck, you see a person seems to be in deep concentration or a meditative state, calm and peaceful. In contrast, the background shows rocky waves and waters. This person is blind-folded and balancing two swords in their hands. Their state of indecision is not obvious to the world. To everyone, this person is focused and doesn’t seem to have a problem. However, this person is struggling with an issue beneath the surface, internal conflicts. I see this person as somebody that is avoiding making a choice. As represented by the swords, this may be a very difficult decision. When the querent sees this card in their reading, it can be worked through by making a decision. Choosing the lesser evil.  The Two of Swords can also be read as a person that is ignoring (blinded) that they have to make a choice.

Reversed: With the Two of Swords reversed, I see much of the same as when the card is in the upright position. However, I see that this person is completely stuck. This person is having problems controlling their emotions. Unlike the Two of Swords in the upright position, this person cannot hide the fact that they are a mess. It is obvious to the world around them. This is a person with feelings of depression, anxiety, and sadness. As the Two of Swords reversed is with its upright position, this can be remedied by choosing the lesser of the evils.
