Taurus Rising

Today’s drawing brings us the Knight of Cups.

Wow, I am in love with this card!  And how can’t you be?  This card represents the kind of guy that will completely sweep you off of your feet.  He’s a “good knight” riding in with the white horse.  He’s the knight in shining armor.  He has his head in the clouds.  He’s a poet and hopeless romantic.  He holds the golden cup proudly, indicating that he lets his heart lead the way.  He is the type of person that is willing to overcome any obstacle, break any barriers, where love is concerned.  He is a charming guy, has a way with words, to make you swoon and win you over.

However, as most things have negatives, this person being very emotional, can also be extremely moody!

I read on another site about the Knight of Cups and they used the term “courtly love”.  I agree with this thought and think that it really does represent the Knight of Cups.  He reminds me a lot of Lancelot from the legend of King Arthur, the guy that won the heart of the queen consort, Guienevere.

When the Knight of Cups appears in a reading, this usually indicates that the querent has been/is being pursued by a young man.  This card also indicates love and romance.

Reversed: With the Knight of Cups reversed, we see a knight that has fallen off his steed.  He is the emo guy, depressed, and sucked into a downward spiral!  Along with being moody, this person is extremely sensitive, taking everything to heart.  This person possibly had their heart broken.  The romanitc spark is no longer there.  Love is lost.  What has swept you off of your feet, no longer interests you.  I also see an emotionally clingy person that doesn’t want to leave.  This can also be the guy that charms you – with lies.
