Daily Tarot Card: Major Arcana – 10 – Wheel of Fortune

July 10th, 2009 by taurusrising.net received No Comments »

Today’s drawing brings us the Wheel of Fortune.

Wow, what a great card! When I look at this card, I feel hope and optimism. This is one of the best cards to have in a reading. This card signifies that good luck is on the way. This card is ruled by the planet Jupiter, the planet of opportunity, growth, and expansion of knowledge.

This card appears to havean Egyptian god sitting on top of the wheel. To me, it appears that this god is giving the querent the hand of good luck. In the Waite deck, there are four creatures sitting on clouds on the corners of this card. Clouds generally represent messages and epiphanies. To me, this seems to suggest the creatures as the messenger of great things to come. The books in the Wheel of Fortune may represent knowledge.

While there are many symbols of hope and good luck on the Wheel of Fortune, there may also be some slight delays, signified by the snake (perhaps temptation?) and the what appears to be a red creature, perhaps the devil.

But overall, I see the Wheel of Fortune as a wonderful sign for good luck.

Reversed: With the Wheel of Fortune reversed, I see some blocked energy preventing the querent from reaching new opportunities. This blocked energy could be the querent bogged down by distractions or resisting change. The messengers and their books of knowledge fall from the sky and the red creature seems to be guarding the wheel. The Wheel of Fortune reversed can also be read as getting the wrong end of the stick – bad luck.
