Daily Tarot Card: Queen of Cups

July 20th, 2009 by taurusrising.net received No Comments »

Today’s drawing brings us the Queen of Cups.

Like other court cards, the Queen of Cups represents either the querent or a part of the querent projected onto another person.  This is a really beautiful card, especially in its upright position.  This is a sensitive-type, a very spiritual person.  Viewing the image from the Waite deck, we see a person that is very calm, perhaps even peaceful.  Since this is a Cups card, we know that this involves emotions.  I see a person that is very nurturing and caring.  This is the type of person that gives everything with all of their heart.  She seems to be in touch with nature, with all of the shells and stones at her feet.  The waters waver a little, causing me to wonder if the calmness is a little mask and if there are unsettling emotions inside.

Reversed: WIth the Queen of Cups reversed…. woah, stay out of the way! This woman is crazy.  I see emotions all over the place.  She walks with an emotional whirlwind around her. Remember how I said that the emotions spill from the heart of the upright Queen of Cups?  Well, I said something similiar.  Queen of Cups reversed?  The emotions don’t spill out, they come out raging like a tsunami.  She is PMS 24/7.  She is vindictive and manipulative.  She thrives on drama.  No drama around?  Wait, she’ll stir some up for the sake of having it.  She may also have psychic powers, but she uses them for the wrong reasons.  She’s destructive.  She’s definitely not the kind of person that *I* would want to be around.
