Dreamy Wednesdays: Losing Direction and Problems Closing the Door

July 22nd, 2009 by taurusrising.net received 4 Comments »

It’s Dreamy Wednesday!  So here’s another dream of mine that I will share and interpret.

Here is my dream for this week:

I was on a bus going back somewhere. I didn’t know which bus to hop on and then I saw my Aunt on the bus and hopped on, I was relieved to see her. The busses reminded me of the ones at Disney World. Then we were driving around and then three people were with me. And I realized that the bus had stopped. We were on the road, and parked next to the bushes. We hopped off of the bus went across the street into what seemed to be a warehouse. The sky was dark and gray. We went inside… I don’t remember a lot of what was going on… then we were leaving and there was a room that reminded me of the airport waiting rooms between the terminals and the walkways. I looked in the mirror and noticed that one of my contacts had broken. I told whoever about it and they said, “ok, we’ll work on that when we get back”. That’s when we got into the car.  It was dark outside. The street lights were bright. I was in the passenger’s seat, there was a male energy driving the car. I think we were waiting for the others to hop in the car. I kept closing the door, but it wouldn’t stay shut. I tried to see what was wrong with it, why the door wouldn’t stay closed. There was no reason for it. The lock was even up, I thought that it would hold the door together to keep it closed. But it wouldn’t. I had to hold the door closed. Then, we left… I remember we drove through an area where a famous singer born/died. There were flags everywhere and whoever I was with, said that he didn’t realize that this famous person grew up in such a patriotic town. Reminded me of the area outside of the stadium in Florida. Then I saw a bunch of old apartment buildings lined up next to a huge body of water.  I saw a helicopter. It was following a group of guys that they thought were famous. The guys were hiding though, didn’t want to be seen. So the helicopter flew away somewhere else.

  • hiding – security and protection

Interpretation:

The dream starts off with you taking a bus somewhere.  You don’t know which to get on, but you recognize your Aunt (somebody that is familiar), and decide to hop on that bus.  This means that you aren’t taking any control of your life, you’re not sure where you want to go, so you’re taking the path that is most familiar.  Sitting in the bus, three people join you.  Threes in dreams can represent many things, including the past, present, and future.  This could mean that all of these aspects of yourself are traveling with you on your journey.  All of a sudden, the bus is parked on the street next to the bushes.  This might indicate that you’ve been snooping in places you shouldn’t be and since then, you’ve been keeping a secret about it or haven’t been entirely open about it.  With the bus parked on the street, it may indicate that you are having some temporary setbacks in your current life path.  This temporary setback is reinforced by stopping in at a warehouse – a place with hidden resources, possibly past memories.

But before you walked in, you noticed that the sky was dark and gray.  This indicates some sadness and possibly trouble.  An alternative way to look at this is, visiting your past can bring some trouble to your current life or the memories will bring back some sadness.  As you were leaving, you stopped in a waiting room, which indicates that even though you are going through a chaotic period in your life, you are being patient. Looking into the mirror, you noticed that one of your contact lenses was broken.  This could imply that you are having difficulties paying attention to what you should be doing or what you know you should be doing and/or you think that the world sees you in that perspective. But whoever you were with said that it wasn’t important.

You went back outside to the car, your mode of control in your life.  You noticed that the skies turned into darkness, foreboding failure or setbacks, yet the streetlights shone brightly, indicating that you need to move to a higher level of awareness.  You got into the car into the passenger’s seat, indicating that you are taking passive control of your life.  You noted that a male energy was driving the car, which could mean that a male influence in your life, or somebody with masculine energy, is directing or driving your life.  You tried to close the car door, but it wouldn’t shut which could indicate that you are trying to close yourself off from somebody, possibly feelings.  However, you are having problems keeping that door closed and locked, which may mean that you are having problems closing yourself off- possibly detaching yourself emotionally, then quickly reattaching yourself when needed.

Once you were on the road, you took a street back to your past.  You remembered that a celebrity lived and died there, which may mean that your dreams began and ended around this place or alternatively, you had some desires for some recognition for your accomplishments.  It may also indicate that you admired this person for never leaving their roots.

Later, you saw a bunch of old apartment buildings lined next to a body of water.  In dreams, buildings represent the self and body.  You may think of yourself as an old person or an old soul.  The dirty water represents wallowing in negative emotions, so overall, it may mean that you are letting yourself soak in negative emotions.  Or all that you can see is the negativity surrounding you.

A helicopter was flying around, indicating your pursuit of a goal.  It was chasing celebrities, so literally, this could indicate that you are trying to chase fame.  However, the celebrities were hiding from the helicopter, which may mean that you are afraid of standing in the spotlight or the need for some sense of protection.

Overall:

It seems that you have lost your direction or life path.  When you had to make a decision, you ended up taking the one that was the most familiar to you.   The dream indiciated that you may also be poking around in places you shouldn’t be and then not being entirely honest about it!

You went by a warehouse, which is usually a symbol in dreams for stored memories.  It was a stop on your path, which may mean that you are distracted by your past, therefore aren’t paying any attention to what you know you should be doing.

As you are in the car, again it indicates that you are taking passive control of your life.  Your life decisions are being influenced by male energy.  You also seem to be trying to close yourself off from something, but you are having difficulties keeping that door shut and locked.

Later, you saw the helicopter, which implies the pursuit of a goal.  You may be trying to chase fame, but at the same time, you are afraid of standing in the spotlight.

I had a few problems trying to analyze symbols… for instance, the one about the flags.  I wasn’t sure how to write that into my interpretation.  As always, I welcome and appreciate any feedback!

    Hi Marcia!
Thank you again for your input! I had a lot of problems (as you probably saw) translating the meanings of the famous people and the flags.

I really appreciate you adding insight to the dreams. It helps me understand them (and myself) a lot better.

The Meaning of Dreams site – is that your website?

It seems to me that this dream has to do with a change in your life and your being worried (possibly unconsciously) about how you will cope. You are on a journey, which can represent the journey of life, then find yourself in the waiting room of an airport. An airport is where you leave one place and go to another place. Dark, grey sky + broken contact lens = possibly not being able to find you way clearly. Birth and death (of the famous singer) are also symbols of change. Famous people in dreams often represent either qualities that you want to adopt or qualities that you want to give up, so that could be related to the change.

Unlike an airplane, a helicopter can go straight up and down, so perhaps a helicoper has to do with a wish to achieve your goals right away (moving straight up) without having to endure a long journey to get there.

A flag can be something that guides your way. It can also be something that creates unity, gives you something in common with other people (you are all citizens of the same country). It can also create division (you’re different than people from other countires). So flags can have to do with your need to understand more about your future and how your connections withother people have changed or are going to change.

    LOL!
They can be a challenge, that’s for sure. When I started writing down my dreams, I’ve been having the most DETAILED ONES, so it makes it increasingly difficult, because I keep wanting to analyze every symbol in it… I mean, it has to mean something, why else would it be there?

And thank you for commenting on my blog! It’s nice to see you here :)

I’m thinking that maybe I should try this out sometimes… my dreams are often so wacky and more often than not have zombies in them… so it’s often strange to try and analyze them :-)
