Today’s drawing brings us the 7 of Cups.

When I look at the 7 of Cups, I see two ways to read this card.

The first interpretation is a person that daydreams. Daydreaming of hopes, dreams, aspirations… all of the good stuff wanted in their life. This is indicated by the objects inside of the seven cups. I also see a person that is caught up in a fantasy. This person may be daydreaming without taking action. In other words, the person may know what they want, but they aren’t taking the appropriate steps to get what they want.

The second interpretation for this card is delusion. This is somebody daydreaming to the extreme! For example, this person is so caught up in the idea that someday they will definitely win the lottery. So, with that dream in mind, everything else is neglected. “I’m going to win the lottery, so I don’t need to work. The money will make up for everything.”

Reversed: With the 7 of Cups reversed, I see a person that is coming out of the delusion. There is clarity. This could also indicate that the person has lost some hope. This person is finally facing reality and along with that, they are feeling the loss that comes with shattered dreams.
