Today’s drawing brings us the Nine of Swords.

This is a pretty negative card. In the Rider-Waite deck, the picture is of a woman in bed crying with some pain or grief. When I look at it, the card makes me think of somebody waking up from a nightmare. This card also makes me think about bedtime when we are alone with our thoughts and all of negative events or feelings hit us full force.

Sadness. Regrets from things in the past. Sorrow. Grief. Worry and anxiety. Losing a battle. Suffering. Love lost.

Reversed: When the Nine of Swords is reversed, it has similiar meetings to it’s upright counterpart. Imprisonment (jailed inside your head). Paranoia. Delusion. Stubborn. Pent-up anger and aggression.

I’m interested in your feedback! If you have thoughts to add about the Nine of Swords card, please share them in the comments section.
